I love to paint outside and with my kids. The day I painted this, it was a beautiful spring day, my garden was in full bloom and I needed to get outside. I put the trestle tables in the garden, set up my son to paint, cranked up the music and painted 3 artworks using the same technique but with very different results.
All 3 canvases had:
* oil pastel shapes in 2 or more colours
* collage from my own printed paper
* 3 acrylic colours similar to the colours of the collage painted with a palette knife
* Finger painted dots
* high flow acrylics dripped down them
* marks, outlines or patterns drawn with posca pens.
* extra details drawn on the edges with poscas
I absolutely love how different all three turned out.
I didn't have anything in mind when I painted these. I thought they were going to be pure abstracts but this little bird was busting to be seen. I gave it a cute little crown. I love how the pink drips turned into plants.
Can you just take a look at how freaking cute she is?
