Continuing my bush inspired ink paintings, here is another in the series.
I am enjoying representing something true to environment I live in.
I grew up in the bush, couldn't wait to move to the city after school and made the right choice moving back here after having kids.
The bush is calming, a constant inspiration with new growth and animals. I love watching the change of the seasons here. I feel connected.
I used inks and my large Japanese ink brush to create the first shape. Then picked other coloured inks assorted brushes, sticks and a glass dipping pen to create other shapes and marks. I used a thick posca to create waves across the page. I chose some of my painted collage paper to stick down. Added some pastel pencil marks then a white uniball signo pen to add the final marks on top.
The common theme here is that I tend to get stuck mid way through and not know where to go, so I take a break and go back to it with fresh eyes.
I turned the painting around a couple of times and it looked like a wattle bird and mountain devils. We have heaps of these in our front yard, so was very apt.
