Well it is definitely getting chilly! Yesterday we had ice on the windows and it has already snowed up the mountains!
I never used to like winter but I am settling into it now. I love the warmth of the fire, hot soup, melted marshmallows in hot chocolate, slow cooked meals, snuggling in my Oodie with my family watching a movie and reading a book in bed.
What are your favourite winter activities at home?
Because it is June it means a few things:
1. Tax time
2. Reenrolling for term 3 after school classes
3. July holiday classes for kids
4. July adult class
5. Shop restocks and updates
Tax time you say? Eugh! Why am I even bringing it up?
Seriously though, did you know that businesses can claim any art purchases this financial year as a tax deduction?
(This image is of us partying as we claim it all! Haha.)
In order to claim a tax deduction on artwork purchased for your office, the artwork has to meet four criteria to be eligible for the instant asset write-off. It must be:
Tangible (Not NFTs);
Capable of being moved;
Purchased with the dominant purpose of display in a business premise; and
Not be trading stock.
Head to my shop now and chose something that makes your heart sing!
KIDS AFTER SCHOOL CLASSES
It is heading towards the end of term so it is time to start thinking about reenrolling or enquiring about term 3 classes if your child would like to attend.
Currently attending students always get preference but I can always add one or two more kids.
If your child hasn't been before, it is a lovely place for kids to unwind and be themselves.
It is a place of experimenting and creativity. We do not copy artworks, I encourage the kids to use their own ideas to create something special.
We use all sorts of materials and techniques giving the kids skills to create out of class too.
Classes are in the middle of my home so it is relaxing and fun.
At the end of each term the kids give me ideas for what they want to learn the next term and I incorporate that into the program as well as anything else I think they might love. New kids get to have a say too if the program isn't out yet.
Classes are for kids aged 5-12years.
It is $180 for a term and I accept Creative Kids vouchers.

JULY HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS
The end of term always catches me and I realise I need to get my butt into gear and organise holiday classes! I have had a break the last couple of holidays because life has been so full on with Covid and sickness. I am really looking forward to getting back into it and have some really fun classes planned! You gets get first dibs! There will be 4 classes with 6 spots each. Each class is $30 and $6 off 1 class/person if you are booking more than 1 class for 1 child or booking a sibling into the same class. Thursday 14th July 10-11.30am - Animals in ugly jumpers (pencil, pen & textas) 12-1.30pm - Collage Monstera leaf (paint, collage, pencils) Friday 15th July 10-11.30am - Watercolour sushi (pencil, pen, watercolour) 12-1.30pm - Winter foxes (pencil, acrylic, pen) Kids coming to both classes in a day will need to bring lunch and a drink bottle for the break. (Bookings are via Class Bento)
WHY SHOULD THE KIDS HAVE ALL THE FUN?
The Abstraction class I did with the kids was so much fun. They all produced frame worthy art. It is one of my favourite styles of art because you just never know what you are going to get. It is liberating and takes the pressure of trying to be perfect. Anyone can do this class from absolute beginners and up. I don't care if you haven't picked up a brush since school! You are welcome.
We will be:
1. Doing a bit of journaling to begin with.
2. Messy painting and mark making with found objects from around my house
3. Reeling it in, turning the mess into something incredible
You will:
1. Rekindle your creative spark in a warm, safe environment
2. Unburden your worries by writing them down on the page and chatting with friends
3. Learn techniques you can use at home
4. Gain confidence with a supportive teacher
4. Create something you will want to frame
5. Feel the absolute joy of creating something of your own
6. Make time just for you!
Class will be 10am-1pm Sunday 17th July. There are 6 spots available. It is $60 each. Tea, coffee and fruit provided.
Click to book via Class Bento now. You can use your Parent NSW or Discover vouchers through here too!
