Are you in a panic about what to do with your kids these holidays? They are creeping up with less than 3 weeks to go.
Never fear! Art classes are here!
I have just created a holiday art workshop program for them, which I think will keep your kids very busy.
As you can see, there are 8 classes over 2 weeks.
The first session goes for an hour and can facilitate a maximum of 6 kids aged 6-12 years.
The second session goes for an hour and a half and can facilitate a maximum of 4 kids, as we will be getting messy and need more room. These sessions are for 8-12-year old’s as some parts are a bit fiddly.
I love to look to Pinterest for class inspiration and tweak the lessons to be my own. The photos below are examples only.
This time, of course, there are some Easter themed lessons with 2 Easter Art classes, Rabbit papier mâché and Marbling Easter Egg Bunting.
I thought these looked cute. Their expressions are hilarious, like someone has stolen all of their Easter eggs. I can’t wait to see how they turn out!
Other lessons on offer are:
· Altered books, which is always a favourite of mine. The possibilities are endless with what you can do with an altered book. I love that you can put it down and come back to it days, weeks, months, even years later and keep working in it. You can do quick 15 minute artworks if you are busy but the feeling to create is tugging at your sleeves, or get stuck into it and spend hours creating something incredible. Google "altered books" if you want to get an idea of what I am talking about. Please do it after reading my blog as you will get carried away for hours haha.
· I think Animal Face collages will be popular. The kids will get to make their own collage paper, tear it up and share it among the group. They will use the paper to fill the background of their paper creating the first layer of their animal. They will then pick eye, nose and mouth stencils to copy and colour in. After that they will assemble the face pieces and add details to complete it.
· Mother’s Day art is another lesson which hasn’t been finalised and I don’t want to write about because it is a secret! You will just have to wait and see.
· The last one is People Sculptures which we will be making out of wire, foil and masking tape. I want to encourage the kids to try out all different postures to add interest.
