EMPOWERING ART & CLASSES FOR WOMEN & THEIR FAMILIES
BY JADE FORDER @ CREATIVE ABYSS
WINMALEE, BLUE MOUNTAINS, AUSTRALIA
My vision is to prove that every woman deserves to be seen, loved, and heard, and that children’s creativity can illuminate art's magic into adulthood. Through Creative Abyss, I translate this conviction into measurable, meaningful impact for individuals, families, and the broader community. I offer safety, belonging, and empowerment, outcomes that ripple outward to transform relationships, break cycles of trauma, and foster resilient, creative communities.
Learning here is personalised and accessible. Weekly classes blend intuitive art with a reflective practice, enabling students to articulate needs, regulate emotions, and establish routines that translate into everyday life. For families and carers, education extends into practical life skills, communication, problem solving, and supportive parenting. My home-based studio, set amidst the Blue Mountains bush, offers a calm environment for busy women, their families and neurodiverse learners.
Last week was a cracker! I won best art school Blue Mountains with QBA and the Passion & Perseverance Award at the Altitude Awards which my partner came to to celebrate with me. My choir, Basic Pitch were the entertainment. Lots of my business friends won awards too and it was such a great feeling cheering them on.
The Local Business Awards are on Wednesday Nov 5th. I am a finalist in the education category.
Fingers crossed! Wish me luck!

The crew from Well Traveller TV came to film an episode of their show at my place!
It goes to air on Saturday 8th November at 3.30pm on Channel 10.
They choose an everyday Australian who is doing it tough and gift them with a few days of adventure, reflection and "me time" doing activities and being pampered.
Barry Dubois who you might remember from the Living Room with Amanda Keller was the host along with the Everyday Australian, Ange. We had lots of laughs as I taught the class.
I am extremely grateful for the experience I didn't even know I needed.
I am still pinching myself!
Season 2 starts October 11th.
Make sure to check out their website as there are lots of wellness tips and retreats to inspire you.

I am so excited to share my first podcast episode with Women With Altitude.
In this episode, I share how art helps me navigate mental health struggles, why self-confidence is every woman’s superpower, and how creative expression can help us feel more like ourselves again.
